Re: Stade Rennais (Who are they?) Here is Celtic FC.

TURN YOUR BACKS TO NEWCO IN SPL

On Sunday the GB will be turning our backs to the game on the 15th minute in opposition to the prospect of a Hun Newco. being re-instated into the SPL.

With the SPL meeting on Monday to decide on possible sanctions against a Newco., Sunday is the best and only platform for the Celtic support to unite in opposition towards this prospect. We therefore urge all supporters to turn their backs on the 15th minute mark and make our feelings clear to those who will be deciding the fate of the future of Scottish football.

I've heard about the Newco issue for the Rangers. But I've absolutely no idea what Newco is and what is the problem with it. Could you tell me more about it please?

Re: Stade Rennais (Who are they?) Here is Celtic FC.

A newco (new company) is basically the old company which we know now 'Glasgow Rangers' our rivals will basically Die! big_smile However a new team with the same stadium and training complex etc will emerge with a new name most likely called 'Govan Rangers'. However this would be a new club with no history and will NOT be the same as Rangers who we know at this moment. However there is some controversy surrounding the Newco team as the main bosses at the football association want to put the newco team straight into the SPL. This has caused anger because it is seen as unfair as they are a brand new team from the old team who corrupted scottish football for more than a decade and it looks like an easy way to get back into playing in the SPL and not facing any real punishment. Also results from polls say 98% of all SPL fans don't want the Newco team in the SPL but rather in Scotland's 4th tier and start from the beginning.

Hope this helps! wink

Re: Stade Rennais (Who are they?) Here is Celtic FC.

What your asking is a BIG ask and could fill a large book with what has been going on at rangers in the past 12 years. However I will try and shorten it the best I can to a few paragraphs if that can be done. lol

Let's start off by saying the following has only been public knowledge for around 6 months, however those with internet knew these goings on 2 years ago including myself but was told by every man, woman and child that it was a lot of rubbish which it turns out to be untrue as it is now common knowledge and is the biggest story in Scottish football EVER.

However let's start from the beginning....

Rangers owner since 1993 'David Murray' had a very succesful 7 years at the club leading Rangers to 9 SPL championships by buying LEGALLY half of the england team at that time and some fantastic forgein players such as the De Boer twins from the Netherlands. Rangers fans were happy, Celtic fans weren't as we weren't winning anything. tongue However when the year 2000 hit, David Murray started to feel the impact of his big spending on these great players and began to lose more money. In 2000 Murray was offered a scheme called 'Employment Benefit Trust' which means that players on big contracts won't have tax paid by rangers onto their wages. This suited Murray as he never had BIG money at that time and had to keep up with Celtic as they were buying new great talents from England such as Chris Sutton and Alan Thompson. Rangers used the EBT's in a wrong way which turned into being tax evasion. This type of scheme continued for 10 years to pay players and staff wages just to avoid paying the tax on it. Rangers had very succesful periods in the 2000's using the players getting paid wages from an illegal tax evasion scheme and getting to the Uefa Cup final in 2008 in Manchester which they lost to Zenit St Petersburg. It is said that every player to have played for Rangers since the year 2000 was evading tax which is illegal which would mean everything rangers were ever involved in such as the league would become invalid such as league championships and all the champions league and Uefa Cup games they played which meant that the teams they were playing against should be awarded wins as rangers were really playing ineligible players, nobody in Scotland has really thought about this yet. However rangers are now £134 million in debt which SHOULD liquidate the club and kill them. A saviour called 'Craig Whyte' purchased rangers in 2010/11 season and was mean to wipe out their debt of £18 million at the time and await a £49 million tax bill from the tax evasion court from the EBT's used by rangers in the 2000's. Craig Whyte was unknown in the business world and nobody knew too much about his business ventures. However, it turns out Mr Craig Whyte had sold season tickets for 5 seasons to a company but due to a whole embargo Craig Whyte ran up a bill of around £20 million with them which nobody knew about. Craig Whyte also NEVER paid his tax whilst in charge as well running up a £9 million bill with the taxman. Rangers are now in administration and got deducted 10 points. Craig Whyte is now hated by the rangers fans for what he had done to them and are also angry at David Murray for getting them into this mess in the first place. Craig Whyte is seen however as a legend by Celtic fans as he basically destroyed rangers and as a result of this will die within the next 4 months. There have been several attempts from groups to try and take over rangers and try to pay off the large debt but nobody has came up with enough money to do so. However some of these groups want to kill rangers as we know them off and create a new club with the same stadium and training facilities but wouldn't be the same team with the 140 year history. The SPL bosses want to fast-track this new rangers into the SPL and other clubs aren't happy as the new rangers wouldn't face harsh punishments for what they had done and ruined the Scottish game and is deemed as unfair on the other clubs. The clubs believe that the new rangers should start from the 4th tier and work their way up like other clubs have to do.
There is a lot more to this story but I would be here all night typing lol.

Losing their titles? They should but it is very unlikely they will as rangers are Scotland's establishment club and are seen as the 'superior race' lol

Without a newco there would be no rangers at all. However a newco will happen shall rangers die, it's a certainty.

Re: Stade Rennais (Who are they?) Here is Celtic FC.

Now in Scotland, 2 teams get into the 3rd round qualifiers. Celtic take the champions route and are seeded and don't play the big teams, then we progress to the playoffs also seeded in the champions route then it's the group stages. The second placed team (Motherwell) do the same as Celtic but don't take the champions route so play the seeded champions teams.

It used to be that the Scottish champions enter the group stages and second place into the qualifiers but the Scottish teams have done badly in Europe do we lost that group stage guarantee.

The 3rd 4th and cup finalists go into Europa league qualifiers.

Isn't it a little disappointment, however, to learn that your biggest rival in Scotland will be liquidated because of a financial issue ?
Don't you think you will miss them, after all ?

Celtic's victory makes me happy too, moreover on this score. Nonetheless I agree with L'esprit chafouin concerning the financial settlement of Rangers. It will be sad for football if there isn't an old firm ever... hmm

Just a little question which hasn't really something to do with football...

In English when you say "Celtic peoples" or "Celtic languages" or "Celtic music", I know it's pronounced "Keltic".

For the name of your team why do you rather pronounce "Ssseltic FC" ?

Yes that is true. Celtic were originally pronounced Keltic but due to Irish influence they pronounced the K as S and it kid of stuck from them on.

No we won't miss them as everyone knows Scotland as a country will benefit without them, no more fighting and abuse in scotland anymore. Scotland as a country will be better off. Also I hate rangers and would love to see them die and they won't be missed.
