French is just one of the more difficult languages to learn, whereas English is maybe the easiest.
That's the reason i think.
Hors ligne
Well, it is mainly because english is a lot more spoken thant french worldwide and widely accepted as "business language" !
Lucky you, with your english neigbours in Scotland !

The reason why English is the most speaked language ? Just because France lost wars against England especially the last one...Napoleon against all (fuc****) monarchies

By growing up in the United States
Dude, French was my first language and I'm still barely literate. Reading is one thing but writing is damn near impossible for me. That's why I mostly stick to this section of the forum. In the French section native speakers are getting chewed out for grammar and spelling mistakes.

No explanations...Just have to learn it like in Dutch for instance (Het o De in dutch)

Some spelling mistakes for native speakers are inexcusable (like "your" instead of "you're" in english). Being an American as you are, you wouldn't be flamed that much for your errors. Britanny's still is a land of tolerance

You have some old players as
Daniel Rodighiero, who was a player of our team who winning the Coupe de France (French cup) in 1965. His nickname was Mister twenty goals, because he scored twenty goals each years. It was a great player.

(sorry no translation of this page in english)
You have our Goalkeeper of 1971, Marcel Aubour.

Our Captain of 1965 and 1971, Louis Cardiet, defender, who is one of the few players who won the two cups.

(no translation in english)
and our Pelé :
Laurent Pokou, One of the best player that we have in our History

In the 30's we have a german, his name was Walter Kaiser, a very good player.
http://www.stade-rennais-online.com/Wal … ,3097.html
I think our last stars where :
Marco Grassi, Stephane Guivarc'h, Shabani Nonda, Petr Cech, Alexander Frei, Kim Kallström, Olivier Monterrubio (Yes, I am sure).
I think, some of us will add some name. We have some players who are mythic because they were very bad !

I forgot Jean Grumellon, who played in the 50's and he is always the best scorer of the team (154 goals).

Thanks I'll read through that now.
Interesting fact: rangers won the European cup winners cup in 1971-72 season but were not the Scottish cup winners. They were only the finalists against winners Celtic in 70-71 and only entered the cup winners cup as Celtic were playing in the European Cup.

Would be like rangers .....
Reading the article on the game is hilarious reading for a Celtic fan.
"Building on the advantage of hosting the second leg, his team came to Brittany with the sole aim of avoiding defeat and disturb the attacking play of its opponent as much as possible. Ninety minutes of constant defending, unsporting behaviour and strict man-marking of Rennes' attacking players would follow. Youngster Raymond Keruzoré was particularly closely monitored by a defender who applied a strict individual defence on him."
They still done this until they died, they were highly criticised especially in Europe for doing exactly what this describes. Lionel Messi called it 'anti-football'. To see Rennes call them on this in 1971 is hilarious.
I'm doing journalism at college right now, we need more up to date articles in that website. Hopefully it will be me doing it in years to come once I am more in the know about Rennes.
