Last close season saw a lot of upheaval.  Our manager Thomas Frank left, taking many of his staff.  Our star strikers, Mbuemo and Wissa left (Wissa the snake left after going on strike pre-season), our Captain Norgaard left to join Arsenal and our goalkeeper Flekken left.  I think they are the main ones.  Anyhow, lots of fans were concerned especially when we appointed Keith Andrews as head coach, someone who had never had that position before.  However, for those doubters, last season taught a lot of fans to trust the owner and his side-kick and to trust the process.  It's very rare they get things wrong.  As it turned out, we had a very good season, only to falter at the end and miss out on a European place which would be a first for us. 

Thiago who we had bought the season before but then spent most of that 1st season injured was a star and was the 2nd highest scorer in the PL behind Haaland.  He went on to make his debut for Brazil.

Kelleher was signed from Liverpool.  By all accounts he was regarded as the best back-up goalkeeper in the PL when he was with Liverpool and better than most first team goalkeepers and he was a steal for us.

Kayode at Right Back joined late the season before but became a star and fans favourite.  He makes the odd mistake but once he sorts them out, will be a superstar.  He goes on mazy dribbles from right back all across the pitch and has a throw which Rennes will no doubt witness on Saturday.

Henderson (ex Liverpool) came in to add a steadying influence which was crucial early in the season.  Unfortunately injuries meant he didn't play as much but he has now moved on to Chelsea.

Ouattara came in up front on the right to balance Schade on the left.  Both are still developing but when they get there, they will be frightening.  Both have pace

Damsgaard and Jensen took in our turn threading precise balls through to the front three.

I could go on and on.

As for this season, we have signed a young centre back from RB Salzburg who will add strength to the defence but most significantly, we 'stole' Sangare from Lens who everyone has been raving about.  Could be one of our best ever signings according to the experts so I think we're all licking our lips in anticipation.

Apart from that it's been quietish.  I think the squad is in the best shape it's ever been.  A few players are back from long term injuries.  Milambo who we also signed last year and have high hopes for but the man who we all want to see succeed is Josh Dasilva.  He joined us several years ago and oozed class in the Championship.  Early days in the Premier League and it looked like he was going to be a star only to have a series of injuries.  The last one kept him off the pitch for 822 days and when he made his comeback this time, it was a very emotional Stadium.

Hopes for this season.  I would hope we're again challenging for a place in Europe and would like to see us do well in one of the domestic cups.  It's always tough with the teams we're up against who have budgets far higher than ours but they don't have our owner and his belief.

so longer as it is not an andouillette sausage - they are revolting.

Another Brentford supporter looking forward to a few days in Rennes.  We're a good crowd, enjoy a drink and having watched some bad football over the years, we are now enjoying life.

When in Barcelos Portugal last year for a friendly against Gil Vicente, one of the locals offered to buy a round of drinks for all the Brentford supporters at his local bar so feel free to do the same ;-)

One thing we do seem to have in common though is that our club isn't very helpful when it comes to selling tickets and your clubs website is about as helpful regarding tickets for the morning game. Hopefully it will get sorted and we'll be able to see 2 games
